Writing an essay
In my country we don’t write essays. We have something similar, it’s name is “tvir” but the structure, format of it is different. So I never wrote essays before. That is why the task to write an essay was not easy for me. Firstly I browsed internet for tips how to write essay and examples of it. I found this simple but very helpful website: http://www.howtowriteanessay.com/ . The concept of how to write an essay was describe step by step there. I did everything according to the steps they suggested:
1. I made a brainstorm on the main idea of my essay. I wrote couple a words to describe it.
2. Than I made few “agree” and “disagree” points that were related to my idea for essay.
3. Than I made an outline.
4. Made a sentence describing the main idea of essay. That is how the first letter of introductory paragraph appeared.
5. I reread my main points of essay and made a complete sentence of each of them. That made my first and second parts essay body.
6. Finally I reread all the outline to see whether I like it or not.
7. I add few sentences to introductory paragraph. The main goal of introductory paragraph is to get a reader’s attention.
8. Added couple of sentences to every point I had in the body of my essay. Each point became the first sentence of the each paragraph of the essay’s body. The job of the body is to share my ideas, for and against points with a reader.
9. Conclusion is a final paragraph of the essay. It restates the main idea of the essay, and sums up everything that was discussed in it. I made few sentences at first for this part. The main goal of it is to leave reader with something to think about.
The essay is almost done. Now we need to reread our draft (it would be better to read it loud) and to make at least three changes to better it. Read it again loud and slowly trying to add missing punctuation and spelling mistakes. The job of proofreading is to catch and to change anything that would stop reader from enjoying essay.
