Primary and secondary research.
For an each new task we had to provide a research file. What is research file? It is the compilation of facts, quotes and common information for a selected subject.
There are two kinds of research:
Primary research
Primary research is a research that you made by yourself. For example we made a campaign for VO5 Shampoo. My primary research was to go and to buy shampoo by myself, to browse for brand competitors in stores, to see the price range and position on shelves. Then I used it on my own head and wrote down my impressions.
Secondary research is research through the web, media, or experience of other people. Additional technical information and all other kind of information that you can’t get on your own experience.
